Simple Sentiments Blog Hop

Morning, friends! It's about that time of year when I think, "Self... it's September... you should totally get a head start on all those handmade Christmas cards and tags." And it will be approximately 8 days before Christmas before I really get crackin' on that. But not this year. I mean it. Really. Or, at least, I'm trying to mean it. And I did get a jump on the tags. All thanks to this little beauty that showed up in my mailbox this week... There's a little gem of a page at the back of Holiday Cards & More called Simple Sentiments. And that page was apparently put there with the sole purpose of taking away the moment late on Christmas Eve when I realize, dude, I don't have a single gift tag made yet. (That's a problem for me... I have a certain affection for presents topped with ribbon and a handmade tag.) All it took was a click here and there to download the sentiments (they're free, too!), copy and paste my favorite into a little tag-erific sheet o' tags, a few trims on the cutter, and voila... 8 Christmas tags, all together in their cuteness. I added a little sparkly chalk around the flames and created a little tag handle with a file tab punch (SU) and some green cardstock. Super quick, super easy. (And lucky for me, they matched this oh so sweet baker's twine that I picked up here.) And once I finished them, I thought they would make a darned cute little gift for a crafty friend. Just tuck them away with a few rolls of twine and there you go... one gift down.
Look at me... gettin' a jump on the holiday to-do list.
And all of the Paper Crafts peeps are, too, so take a look...

(and I'm pretty sure there's a giveaway involving some sentiment stamps, too... I'm just sayin!) Later!

  28. JESS!! I LOVE these. The tags are amazing. And hello....we must be sisters from another mister! I bought 8 of those gorgeous 240 yd rolls of bakers twine (just arrived today!) and then I ordered 80 awesome vintage thread spools on Etsy. So I figure if I can fit 10 yds on each of them I've got 10 gift sets of twine for friends.

The problem however is HOW am I going to ever find time to wrap 80 thread spools with 10 yds of twine each? Seriously!!
