11 minutes...

All right, so I will own up to the fact that this one might have taken a wee bit more than 10 minutes. I had the best intentions, but figuring out what ink to use on the blue paper threw me for a serious loop-dee-loop. And, of course, because I was only using things from my scrap pile, I only had the one blue die-cut which was already lopped off at the bottom, so I couldn't risk ruining it. I tried not to think about it too much, but then I did. Sigh. But that's ok since I like how it turned out.
The patterns together are a bit funky to me, but they were already trimmed exactly as they are, so I determined that they were just meant to end up married together on a card. The fact that the papers were cream and the card was white was, to be honest, really buggy to me, so instead of finding another card base I decided to face the problem head on. I added the Text Style image in a light taupe on the card base to a) bring the taupe/cream onto the white and b) soften the white so the edges where the patterned paper met the white card base weren't so stark. Much better. In the end, I'm very satisfied. I'm totally sold on PTI's Big & Bold Wishes set... that one is going on my recommend-everyone-in-the-world list for the variety of sentiments and the sheer number of them in the set. If you're digging the 10-Minute-Scrap-Pile-Challenge, or if you're just a fan of clean and simple cards in general, you might want to go check out this happy quickie by Charlene Austin. And there's also this little cutie from Winter Sims. They were so sweet to drop me a line and let me know that they were playing along! Love what they've done! So scoot on over and check them out... scoot, scoot. Feel free to leave a link to your 10-Minute-Scrap-Pile-Challenge card! I'd love to stop by and see what you've come up with. Later, friends!

love it! I should try a 10 minute challenge. I took a scrapbooking class from Heidi Swapp a few years ago and she said "Don't spend 1/2 day wiggling pictures around on your cardstock. Make a decision, glue them down, and then work with/around what you've got."

Beautiful! I'm laughing at your marriage analogy (kinda like my hubby and me, different, but we sure work!)

Hi Jess! I had a 10 minute challenge of my own without evening knowing about the Challenge! I had to get a card together for my friend in a jiffy. Like you, it may have been eleven or twelve minutes, but here is my card:
