Post-Release Wrap-Up...

Seeing as how it's almost the end of April, how about I post the rest of my Papertrey Ink projects from this month's release?

I'll start with one of my *favorites.*

{Apparently I am not one for delayed gratification today.}

I just have a little sweet spot for this one.

Soft Stone cardstock - check.
Embossing - check.
Lots of white space - check.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I used some of my favorites :)

The little flowers were made with the new Flower Fusion #3 die, stamp, and vellum.  I die cut the flowers first (I was able to cut 3-4 at a time from the vellum) then stamped one of the flower images in Vintage Cream ink on the top flower.

To give the flowers some depth, I stacked three flowers together with a glue dot in between each and then curled the petals with a quilling tool.  Super easy, but I could give you a few pictures of that some time if you're interested.

Small, sweet, and simple.  I'm just really taken with how they turned out :)

I went with a modern take on the Flower Fusion #3 set...

I love coming up with something different each month with these little flower sets and was practically gleeful when I saw that Heather included a sunshine sentiment.

I stacked cardstock strips in Terra Cotta Tile, Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, and Summer Sunrise, then added the in Harvest Gold.  I tried to really bring out emphasize the idea of a sun with the piercing "rays."

A happy little card, right?

Next up is a quick and easy idea for Father's Day.  There are so many sentiments in this set (this isn't even all of them) that it was fun to kind of figure out a kind of jigsaw-puzzle them together.

If you click on the picture to make it bigger, you can see that I used Guide Lines cardstock for the base... you might give it a try if you're working on a project like this where lining everything up is key.

I added stamped a few things with Pure Poppy ink just to make everything pop.

Next up... Grunge Me.

This one is one I'll be turning to again and again.  I love layering images and building up a cool design on a single layer of cardstock... this set works really well for that.

I embossed a bit of Maile's Chevron Stripes on top.  To fit them in with the grunge theme, I distressed them a bit.  I stamped them in clear ink, covered them with yellow embossing powder, then hit them a bit with a soft paintbrush to knock a bit of the powder off.

*Love* that they can go clean and elegant or distressed and grungy.

One last card for the boys.  I decided that since this month's release focused a bit on younger guys and little boys, that I would attempt creating something for an older boy {say, my husband} with the Train Tracks set...

And, yes, I think he appreciated it :)

I made the train "tracks" from a little striped image in the Grunge Me set and gave the train a little modern take on coloring.  The "No." and numbers are included in the set, so I used his age for the number.  The tiny heart die cuts for smoke bring out the theme.

It's hard to tell in the above picture, but I stamped the ticket on the left with the ticket border and love images from Just the Ticket... the right ticket has the ticket border and lines

Last one... and one of my favorites... Ad Sense goes soft and girly.

The sign outline just had the look of a ribbon tail to me so I went with it and make a little birthday ribbon.  The sign was die cut and then heat embossed in white on Sweet Blush cardstock... you know how I love my white embossing powder :)

The color combo is totally new to me... Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Melon Berry, and Summer Sunrise on a Rustic Cream card base. I tend to shy away from the softer colors for some reason, so this has a really fresh feel to me.

I didn't originally think I would be pairing Ad Sense with Delightful Doilies but once I layered the Happy Birthday sentiment on the doily die cut, it just seemed to be calling for the doily stamps, too.

I hope you like them!  Let me know if you have any q's about them and I'll do a quickie post with wrap-up answers

Later, friends!

Gorgeous projects! My fave has to be the train card. What red medium did you use to color in the little train? It looks a bit raised and shiny, almost like the enamel paint in a wagon :D

Hi Jess!

These are gorgeous!!!! I love them all! You have used these sets so perfectly!!! That last card is such a beauty and with indeed an unexpected stamp set combination, but it works soooo really well! Love the shape of that card as well, looks like a trophee! Fun! And the first card you created is also one of my faves here, so stylish!!! Those leaves are pretty, gotta go on my wishlist, ha ha! Is the grey paper also from Papertrey? Looks like an amazing color, almost silver! Pretty!

Wishing you a wonderful day!
Hugs, Wendy
