10MSPCollage

The letter of the day is C. And the "C" in 10MSPC usually stands for "Challenge" (as in, 10 Minute Scrap Pile Challenge). But today's letter of the day - C - stands for Collage. And collage, my friends... it's sort of my enemy, my greatest foe... my kryptonite. Because, after all, what is a collage? I think of it as the mother of all layering. And what am I so NOT good at? Layering. Sigh. So I have no idea what got into me with this whole collage thing. I've been wanting to do a card like this for forever, but the kryptonite factor really bugged me. I just knew that a collage scrap pile card would totally stink. But it's been sitting there in my brain... trying to get out. And today I finally let it. Whew. I feel much better now.

Some of the papers are from (and know that I know this is ridiculous) the little Studio Calico catalog. Not the actual papers (although the blue text is part of their Compilation paper, the other 4 papers aren't). They were super sweet to gift me a little package of their new lines at CHA and I love them. So much so that I used the little mini catalog images, too, to make them go further. (I think that pretty much defeats the point of my little challenge... I can't deny it.) I also added in a little vintage bookprint for kicks. I picked the little Papertrey birthday image because I wanted something that would coordinate a bit with the text and also stay on the masculine side. Soooo... care to join me this week? You could double up on the 10MSPC and go with a collage, too, if you want! Or maybe conquer some other paper crafting fear. It's not that bad, I swear. I survived, didn't I?

Leave me a little note below with a link to your image (gallery, blog, etc.) and I'll draw one name to send out a copy of the newest Stamp It! Cards to.

Sweet, right? I'll leave the contest open through the week... leave your comment by midnight on Sunday and I'll let you know who wins at next week's 10MSPC. Later, friends!

A collage? I think I'll just do the scrap challenge. And now that i see you using papers of the catalog, I see more scraps on the table in my future!

Collage is so different from my style. I'm not sure if I'm ready. I've never seen this magazine! It looks like it's full of inspiration.

If I could just conquer my fear of "too much". I love cards that look full without a spot that says "something is missing there" or "that part looks bare", but every time I try it, it looks like stuff just fell off my shelves and and onto my card! HA HA! Then, I'm afraid it's too much and take it all off!! Glad to know I'm not the only one who uses "pictures" of papers to create! Love it!

LOVE it! I tend to stay away from vintage, shabby, and the collage myself... I applaud your courage! ;)

I've been following your scrap pile challenges for a bit and decided to give it a go! Not daring enough to give the collage a whirl yet, though! Love your blog & your creations and you have a wicked sense of humor! Thanks for the smiles!

I love putting things down on paper, especially when they come from scraps. Collages are the best way to use them up. Here's the link to your challenge with my card - https://clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/forums/t/6525.aspx?PageIndex=2

Thanks,
Emily
