One Special Day...
This card seems to be a bit more girly than my typical clean and simple vein, but still... a little fussy cutting never hurt anyone, right?
I techniqued it up by doing adding some color to the ribbon... very simple to do.
I just set the ribbon out on my super special misting background catcher (i.e. large priority mail box with the ends all pulled apart to make one large flat piece of cardboard; perfect for misting over and then folding up and sliding into a cabinet) and proceeded to spray it to within an inch of its life with various mists from Tattered Angels.
As the puddles collected on the cardboard, I'd just go back through and dunk the edges of the ribbon in them for a more concentrated effect. Heat immediately with a heat gun to set the colors.
Fun, right?
I love slightly imperfect technique-y things like that. The blue/green stains on my fingers make me feel artsy :)
Later, friends!

Wow!! This is gorgeous, so happy and bold! I love getting inky too but be careful with orange and yellow inks that make your fingers look like a VERY heavy smoker ;)
absolutely gorgeous!
Oh, I love this! That ribbon is scrumptious, I love that fat bow! You have such wonderful technical terms for everything, I really do learn so much when I am here... *wink*
This is so pretty and delicate. I shy away from ribbon...but coloring it would be fun! I love the way you write...."within an inch of its life" ha ha! ;)
Cute card! I love that you can step a little away from your 'usual' style and still come up with a jaw-dropper ;)

GORGEOUS, Jess! The ribbon was worth the inky fingers. Plus you get to feel artsy. bonus.
Jessica this is so pretty. Very colorful and summery...love it!!!
This is sooo pretty! Love the inky ribbon. I just spent some time reading through your posts (since I've had NO time to blog hop recently.) LOVE all of your PTI projects. And those cakes in the seedling cups? Absolutely GENIUS!!! I love them so much!
