Beautiful Blessings: Holiday

Hello, all!

It's that time... I'm coming at you today with the first of October's countdown posts from Papertrey Ink!  All of this month's new products will be available from Papertrey Ink beginning October 15.

My projects today center around one of PTI's new sets... Beautiful Blessings: Holiday.

Let's get started, shall we?

Beautiful Blessings: Holiday is a sentiment set perfect for those who love to include a bit of scripture in their holiday projects. For my projects today, it was easy to bring each project to life by focusing on just one element of each sentiment.

For this card I brought out the word "peace" by adding in a die cut from Wonderful Words: Holiday.  It was super simple to first ink and stamp the upper portion of the sentiment (omitting the word peace) and then ink and stamp the second portion of the sentiment.

Some white embossing powder makes the sentiment pop on the Soft Stone cardstock.

The little dove die-cut comes from this month's Heart-2-Heart #9 set and man, oh, man, let me just say... it's just perfect to pair up with several of the Beautiful Blessings sentiments.  Perfect pair.

Next up...

This time I split up one of the sentiments in this set to focus on the word sign.

The first three lines of the sentiment are on the front of the card while the rest of it is on the inside.  I added a little punch to the front sentiment by stamping the first two lines on vellum and the last line on a little Aqua Mist banner.

The card base is actually covered with a layer of Ocean Tides patterned paper, then a Linen Vellum overlay.
In between the two is a star die cut from white cardstock.  It adds the focus to the sentiment that I really wanted.

The trinket pin reinforces the theme :)

A little trick when adding pins to your projects... if it's possible, I like to secure them by pushing the end into some foam tape.

And last up...

For this one I wanted to focus on the "child is born" theme.  I started with a piece of woodgrain patterned paper and embossed the sentiment on top.  A few images from the previously released Nativity Silhouettes set really bring the theme home.

All righty, folks!  If you're looking for more, be sure to check out Nichole and Heather's blogs!

I'll be back with more in just a few days!

Jess, your projects look simple (I know they take more than simplicity to appear that way) and beautiful. I think the simplicity helps convey the message on the cards more effectively, especially the woodgrain nativity scene. That is something truly special. Well done and thank you for the inspiration. :)

You are the perfect person to show how to work these sentiments so that their compelling messages take center stage. Each card is inspiring, but the third card is breathtaking with its understated, yet powerful design. Wow, just wow.

So very inspiring, Jess, and meaningful at the same time. You really rocked it with these scripture cards. The messages are clean and simple but pack a strong punch. Love them!
