Holiday Tags

Confetti makes me happy :)

And I'm happy to be back with more from Papertrey Ink's October release.

Today's assignment?
The brand new 2012 Holiday Tags set... fun times, fun times :)

When it comes to holiday tags and cards quick and easy is the only way to go for me.

I started off by using the Tag Sale #5 die to cut a few tags.  A few circle images from Bits & Buttons makes for a sweet confetti background.  I used a combination of Limemade Ice, Simply Chartreuse (stamped off once), Raspberry Fizz, and Pure Poppy throughout my projects to tie everything together.

The original Just For You image I used here is actually an oval.  But if I'm knocking out lots of cards and tags, I'm almost always going to pick a shape that I can stamp lots of times on a single piece of cardstock and then use a punch on.

Today's tag quickly became a circle.  I started off by stamping the image several times with Pure Poppy ink on Raspberry Fizz cardstock.  It was easy enough to use a circle punch and allow some of the image to be cut away.  Using punches or dies to selectively show only part of an image is just another way to get more out of your supplies.

If you're not so much a ribbon kind of gal - or guy, whatever ;), or you're just looking for a cost effective way to attach lots of tags... washi tape.  It's the way to go.

For the coordinating card I kept the confetti theme going throughout the card and envelope.  I went with the same background and main image, just switching up the main image to Simply Chartreuse on Limeade Ice.

PTI's medium glassing bags make the perfect envelopes for 3.5 x 5" cards.  I just slipped my card inside and added lots of little confetti made with an old handheld hole punch.  A little washi tape on the end finishes things off.

I love the presentation... the packaging itself seems to make the card so fun :)

I paired the tag image with a little sentiment from the set and added it as a little flag right on top.  I like the feeling it gives that the tag image is anchored down.

Have to say... this little tag set surprised me!  This is one of those times when I'm completely satisfied with how everything has turned out.

Thinking that this card is in the running for the 2012 Witty Christmas card...?
Thoughts?

There's lots more to see of the 2012 Holiday Tags set.  Just check out what the rest of the design team has for you...

This has 2012 Witty Christmas card written all over it. It's fun. It's graphic. It's colorful. (It's easy) I say "Go for it!" Does all that kick boxing lead to strong biceps for hand punches? ( I'm referring to the card stock!)

I say go for it, Jess. Love the bright colors using various circles. Why didn't I think it would be OK to circle punch and oval shaped stamped image? Have to try that out and your results are fab.
