June Release in Review

Welcome to the big one ;)

It's new release time at Papertrey Ink and we're celebrating with our monthly release in review posts!
You can find everything that's new at Papertrey Ink starting tonight (10pm EST).

But first, to whet your appetite, a few projects made with all the new products.
And first up?
Bigger Blooms...

I'd like to think I will eventually be able to give this card to someone.
But right now it's still sitting out on my work table and making me very happy ;)

I loved Mini Blooms (especially for the 3.5x5" cards I tend to stick to) but I love Bigger Blooms, too!  This size pairs really well with the new Chevron coverplate.  Cut from white cardstock and put over black cardstock... yup, definitely bold, I'd say.

The Mini Blooms font is one of my absolute *favorite* fonts in a PTI stamp set so far so I wanted to be able to really feature the sentiment.  I trimmed one white chevron out from the coverplate die cut... I just lined the inside edge of each side of the border up in my trimmer and off it went.  That gave me plenty of open space without sacrificing the look of the chevrons.

I cut the blooms and leaves from colored cardstock instead of white... it helps the flowers stand out against the strong background.  I tried to be thoughtful about the color choices for the same reason, sticking to more saturated colors.

The key to the flowers is foam tape and lots of it ;)

I'll straight up tell you that I love it :)

And speaking of love...

Another Maile Belles set... Live Love Life.

Good grief, I love each and every darned image in that set.
Honestly, that made it kinda hard to get started!  I had ideas for *all* of them!

I decided to quit the debating and just go with one.

Orange Zest, Berry Sorbet, and Soft Stone... a current favorite.

I stamped the image all the way down the panel and then just trimmed one image out and put the original panel (now in 2 pieces) back on the card base.  Be sure to stamp that image before you pop the panels up with foam tape.  I didn't make that mistake this time but I have before ;)

This one is going to see a lot more use from me.  Combining some of the elements really intrigues me... it's the kind of set that everyone is going to use differently.  Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Next up, something a bit more elegant with Boutique Borders: Thanks...

Guys.
You know I can't resist the vellum.
Especially not with white embossing on it.

I came across this older patterned paper from Basic Grey when I was searching for something else in my paper drawer this month and pretty much knew immediately what I would do with it.  The pretty floral seemed just right for the scrolling border image.

Somehow this has a bit of a Parisian feel to me?
Maybe it's the striped ribbon??

Next up... Teacher Tickets...

School is just now winding down for us so I made this one just for my now 4th grader.  He's come a long way this year (third grade boys and their handwriting... yikes!) so I thought a celebratory end-of-year card to tell him how proud I am of him was in order.

I used the ticked die right across the upper panel and then stamped the tickets inside for a bit of a twist.  Adding the extra ticket on top brings a little emphasis to it.

The "You Rock" images from Live Love Life are a perfect fit... fun to think of what else you could fit in those little tickets!

And, since I'm definitely not the only teacher my homeschoolers have in life, I thought I'd get a jump on a few thank you cards for VBS with this month's Wonderful Words: Teacher set...

Love the apples!
Can anyone guess our theme??

That's right...
Fruits of the Spirit, haha!

Love the fonts combination in this set... the script and the teacher image are just right on.  And the new Antique Alphabet letters fit right on those little apples... love that.

I'm thinking I'll pull these same supplies out and let the kiddos make a few of their own VBS teacher cards.  Maybe a little card set as an end-of-week gift?

Now this last one... I'm guessing you'll either love it or hate it...

Could.
Not.
Resist.

Back to School meets Simply Jane.
And my inner bookworm rejoices.

I mean, come on... there are book titles in the quotes from the Simply Jane set... and they were just begging to be masked off and stamped right along the spines of those Back to School books.

It had to be done.

Now, I know that the titles would look a bit more clean and crisp if I hadn't insisted on stamping them on muslin (I just used a little spray adhesive to stick it right onto some cardstock).

Buuuut the muslin made them feel a bit more worn and realistic to me so I went with it.  And then I stacked them all up on top of a little woodgrain "table" and added a sweet quote so I could send off a little card to one of my most favorite mentors.  Who also happens to love Jane Austen.

Seriously... making something that you just *know* someone else will love and get a kick out of... well... that's my favorite.

So, so many more new favorites for you to find with the rest of the team today!  Head on over...

These cards run the gamut. Bold, graphic, romantic, whimsical. And the last one , very inventive. I'm sure the recipient will love it. I was on the fence about Maille's set, put your card pushed me over onto the buying side. Thanks a lot.

Gorgeous cards, Jess! I especially love the last one.... I'd been thinking of how I'd love a book set, but how this one is a little too "cutesy" for my taste-- but I love how you used it in such a non-cutesy way!
