Ahoy!

And so it continues. This whole blogging gig is still so foreign that sitting down to write still makes me feel kinda... I don't know... exposed, or something. Similar to how I felt yesterday at Target when I was shopping for clothes for CHA - yeah, Target, I know, I know, high end, but I'll come back to this point - and my little brood and I were all in the special dressing room with the wheelchair picture on it (because, let's face it, that is the only room that 2 little boys, 1 baby in an infant carseat, and one adult can all fit in together) when my devilishly handsome and sometimes equally behaved middle son decided to open the door. Exposed, I tell ya. True story. And yes, Target does top the list of places for me to shop for clothing because it has the perfect combination of these things:
  • cart to hold the previously mentioned infant carseat (that goes in the actual cart part)
  • seat with strap to hold the previously mentioned devilishly handsome and sometimes equally behaved son
  • free cookie to reward my devilishly handsome and most times equally behaved older son with after picking middle son's spilled cheerios up off the dressing room floor and telling him not to put them in his mouth after they've (both cheerios and children) been on the floor
Clothes that I like are just a bonus at this point. Old Navy is my other go-to store when I have children (which is pretty much, uh, all the time), but I'll save my favorite things about ON for another day.> On to today's project. Yesterday's card was scrappy... sort of. At least, it used stickers and not stamps. So I decided I should go with stampy today. This card features a lot of my very favorite elements... simple stamped images, lots of white space, a simple embellishment for pop, and my favorite size (3 1/2" x 5"). I love, love, love this size and I prefer it even to A2. I love how it balances small focal images and how it makes large focal images seem even bigger. It is so easy to make a smaller card look full and finished without doing much to it. Love that. I originally intended for the stamped images to stand alone, but then I decided that they looked a bit bare, so I added the strip of "waves" covered with a bit of glitter. Much better. Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments about the Paper Crafts announcement! I've been really overwhelmed by all that you've said and I'm so happy (and relieved!) to be able to share it with you. Thanks, everyone!

Well... for not being savvy in the tech department, you sure do have a SWEET blog! I love how it's set up - colors, fonts, etc. I love this little card, too! I have that set, but don't think I'ved used the sailboat image much at all.
BTW - I love Target & Old Navy myself... ;-)

Hi! Stumbled upon your blog and just had to tell you that if we're ever at the same store, we'd have to duke it out for the one with the wheelchair pic :) LOL It's the only one I go to as well. I have 3 kiddos and am also usually armed with a cart, bag with snacks, drinks and whatever toy of the day that ends up in my hand to hold - you get what I mean. Anyway, your blog cracks me up and your cards inspire (I too am a fan of the lazy, but clean style), so I'll be following along in my google reader if that's ok with you. ;) Have a great Friday, jess!
