10MSPC

True confession time. Are you ready? Because this one is going to seriously offend some of you. Really ready? Here goes... I don't really get the whole butterfly thing. I mean... the butterflies... they're like an obsession. They're everywhere. On everything. It seems there is no company in the paper crafting industry that hasn't at least dabbled in them. I mean, I get it somewhat. They're everywhere else, too. Target, Pottery Barn, Anthropology... you know... the usual suspects. But I still don't really get it. I could kind of take 'em or leave 'em. But some of you... some of you are diehards. You could take 'em or take two of 'em. Me... eh. Either way. They're all right. But... I will admit... after borrowing this little punch {yes, the Martha Stewart one that everyone else has had for, oh, about forever now} from my mom I called her up and told her I would be holding it for ransom. She was not a fan. Possession is 9/10ths of the law, though, so I think she's outta luck. Now, was this truly a 10 minute card? The design itself was super quick, but I'm not gonna lie... those tiny little suckers take some patience to glue down. I tried to dab just a tiny bit of liquid glue in the center, then I stuck them down and used the tiny end of a dry embossing tool to rub down the center of the butterfly. That acutally worked pretty well. Look... they're all flying away...

kinda pretty, huh?

I repeated the text in the butterflies (vintage bookprint) with the background stamp at the bottom to kind of ground the whole card. It might have seemed a little empty without it and it adds a bit or visual weight without overpowering the sentiment or tiny butterflies.

So, in the end... I like it a lot.

I'm still not sure I understand it all, but I am stealing keeping the punch.

Wanna play in the 10 Minute Scrap Pile Challenge this week? Just leave a link to your 10 minute card using whatever you find in your scrap pile and I'll stop by!

Later, friends!

I'm afraid I'm one of the butterfly obsessed - since I got my butterfly punch from Stampin' Up! they've been on nearly every card I've made - I just love 'em. And I love your card too :D

I never bought this punch, either, but every time I go into Michaels I contemplate it. You're such an enabler!

So I am not the only one who still doesn't have this punch! Although, because you "borrowed" this from your mom, I guess I am the only one now! HA! I love the card. They are everywhere aren't they.

Very cute card! And I'll sadly admit that I'm with you about the butterflies. Not that I dislike them, they just don't draw me in like circles or scallops. And I don't own the punch either. :)

I've felt the same as you for a very long time. Butterflies have never done much for me but I have to admit, I bought that punch and it changed me some too. I use it a lot. As for stamping them however, I still don't do that.

I am totally with you, well, from your first comments, about butterfiles. I don't get it. They're nice but I'm not interested in buying butterfly stuff. However, if my stamping neighbor had a butterfly punch I might be inclined to borrow it and CASE this cute card!

I agree...take 'em or leave 'em. Guess we're in the minority...

I sooo understand this post! I own no butterfly punches or sets! There are some awesome sets out there featuring them, but they refuse to hop in my cart. I happen to have 2 sets with a butterfly in them and those will do because they are TINY! Nope, I am not offended by this post. I actually feel LIBERATED! I was thinking I might be insane, but misery loves company!!! PS...your green butterfly card kinda rocks....wink!
