It's release time, folks... and you know what that means.
Lots of posts, lots of projects, lots of pictures :)
And today's post is a sweet one.
Super sweet.
Sweet as strawberries.
As in Strawberry Patch, a new set from Papertrey Ink this month and the focus of today's group post... yay!
{Strawberry Patch will be available for purchase on April 15th at http://www.papertreyink.com/}
Let's jump on in :)
I started with this sweet and simple card. Between Strawberry Patch and the coordinating Strawberry Patch Sentiments set there are a TON of images. So, so many. Lots of different sizes of the strawberry and leaf images plus a larger image that combines some of the images for you.
I really wanted to show you that even this super large, super detailed set can be used to make simple but striking cards :) The large lined image serves as the focal point on the card, with lots of die-cut and stamped images on top. To get the extra dimension on the strawberries, I cut them out of Raspberry Fizz cardstock, then used a white gel pen to color in the dots. I added a layer of Diamond Glaze on top but I went AROUND the white dots. I touched up the dots once at the very end of the process. Loving how the texture turned out so realistic :)
Next up is a sweet little basket to give alongside the card. I wanted to come up with something simple, but still appropriate for a quick pick-me-up for a friend in need. This is sort of a semi-homemade theme... the jam is definitely homemade (canned once a year by yours truly :) and the biscuits are a little less than homemade (oh, come on... everyone loves Grands biscuits, right??).
I thought this would make be sweet to give to friend who's under the weather, or welcome someone to the neighborbood, or as a simple thank you gift.
I started with the Berry Basket die. The die is meant to be cut out 4 times - once for each side of your basket. I used Scor-Tape to hold the sides together and had no problems whatsoever. And just look at how darned cute it is :)
I filled the basket with shredded paper, then added the biscuits, then snuggled the jam in next.
Obviously, homemade jam calls for a homemade label, right?
I started with a Vintage Label die-cut and stamped the label image in Simply Chartreuse. I used the larger Strawberry Patch focal image in Sweet Blush over that. Love the soft background it makes :) I pulled the "jam" stamp from Friendship Jars: Summer Fillers... was so happy to remember that stamp since it makes for the perfect pairing with Strawberry Patch.
Lookie... even the top of the jar is cute :) I added an embellished button to the bow... I just used a Sharpie white paint pen to add some dots to the button.
I can assure you... it really is a sweet gift :) I'm always on the lookout for cute and homemade, but still quick and easy. This one totally fits the bill :)
I can't wait to see what the rest of the design team have for us today!

great clean and simple creations. I love this set!
Great project, Jess! Who doesn't like strawberry jam-homemade or otherwise? Thanks for the "simple" version of this delightful new set! It would be too easy to spend a lot of time with all of the details on this one.
AWESOME!! Love how you did the strawberries, and made them look so realistic. And a sweet treat, indeed! Love it :)
Love your strawberries! Great technique! Fun gift!
gorgeous and so sweet!
Cookies?! are you gonna make some more cookies? Gosh, just looking at the biscuits and jam make my mouth water. I love the way that you show off fun culinary gifts to give. I seem to love others thru food ;) Great set.
PS. I also had a huge infatuation with Strawberry Shortcake!!!

I love your basket with all it's goodies! Too adorable! And your card is wonderful. I love how you added texture to the berries. A great technique.

Such a neat idea to make a biscuits and jam basket! Love your glossy strawberries and that adorable red polka-dot button as the perfect touch! :)
Mmmmm, what a yummy project! Makes me think of the freezer jam I used to make - such a fun way to package it!
You bake, you decorate perfect cookies, you make homemade jam and unbelievable paper crafted projects and have THREE children. You probably have a perfectly clean kept home that is gorgeously decorated with handmade projects everywhere.. (and I think you said you homeschool too, right?) I want admission into this alternate dimension you live in that must have 50 hours per day! ;) Or maybe I just want that sprinkling of superwoman dust that possess. Hee hee..all that to say that I love your project! Simply wonderful. :)
Looking forward to making home-made labels for my strawberry jams this summer. Thanks for the clever projects!
YUMMY... your jam and all your adorable projects today! I make strawberry rhubarb jelly every summer fresh from our garden and love this darling way to give it as a gift! Thanks for sharing!
Fabulous - LOVE the strawberries on your card - brilliant effect :)
WOW! Absolutely spectacular! Love these designs.
Awesome projects! I really like the effect created by the diamond glaze - so realistic.
